Getting dressed these days has been more about wearing what is quick, easy and functional. This time of year is naturally busy for everyone! We all know Christmas is around the corner, but for my crew it also involves 2 birthdays before we get to that splendid holiday. Birthdays are a big deal here at the Hale Casa, and we do our best to stick to that tradition. It used to be a week long celebration, where if it was your birthday, you got to pick the dinner menu for the week. Through the week we would talk about what was happening at the time that each one of our kids were born. How excited we were to welcome another child, where we were living (we had been transferred and moved quite a lot while we were having our family) and what we enjoyed about where we were living etc. I think it’s so important for my kids to know their story as well as their siblings’ stories. It’s also cool to know about my story, as well as my husband’s. We also talk about my momma and daddy, who live a few miles a way and how so very different the times were when they were kids. These stories are what make up our family! I think the kids humor us when we reminisce about these sweet times. My oldest son’s birthday comes the first part of December, my husband’s is in the middle. This year my son received an early birthday gift, a son born exactly a week before his birthday. So you can see why this Mimi has been all about outfits which are quick, easy and functional because I have been on the go. I forget how demanding it is to have a newborn and a toddler, but last night I was quickly reminded as we got together to celebrate my son.
This outfit was an easy pick…… black skinny cargo pants, black knee high boots and sparrow sweat shirt. These cargos have plenty of stretch and give, which is a plus in my book when you are getting on the floor and playing with a toddler.
