Black and Cream Zing

Happy Holidays to all! Thought I’d do a quick look back at one of last year’s holiday looks. This black and cream dress was purchased off season the year before and at a ridiculous price. I tried the dress on not so much for the style, but because it was a Nanette Lepore and I really like the way her clothes fit me. I remember this so well, because I was shopping with my sweet momma at the time. As I picked the dress up, she chuckled asking me when I had I started liking lace? (anyone that really knows me, knows I’m not much of a lacy kind of lady) I showed her who it was made by and that I wanted to give it a go and try it on.  And of course you guessed it, it fit like it was made just for me. When I got home with this dress, this is what I did to make it more my style…..a little more edgy and a little less prim. I added a black leather bomber jacket, black tights, black booties and a simple black clutch. ZING! That easy.  It’s also easy to take a black&cream or black&white floral or striped dress that you already have from another season and wear it in the colder months as well — just by adding these few pieces to get an entirely different look. Down below I have given you several great choices in dresses to do this exact thing with and get the most wear out of your wardrobe. The next time you are out shopping and run across something that doesn’t exactly look like you, give it a go, try it on.

 It may surprise you!
