This is 63!

I’m grateful for another year! We had a lovely dinner at @theoptimist in Atlanta last night to celebrate my birthday. It is such a good restaurant that never disappoints with delicious drinks, food and phenomenal service. It’s one of our FAVORITE restaurants to eat at.

I’m hoping this weekend we can get together with the kids, grandkids and mom. The BEST gift for me is time spent with family.

I’m missing my daddy but so thankful for the memories I have of him over the years. The love he instilled in me lives in my heart. I dreamed about him the other night and told him how much I had missed him. I could smell his cologne. (IYKYK - Daddy loved cologne and always had a current fragrance he would wear.) In my dream I remember hugging his neck so tight and getting a beautiful hint of sandal wood, amber and citrus. When I woke up, I swore I could smell those notes lingering in the air. I looked at it as a gift, and not to be sad.

My dress is linen, comfortable, has pockets and is on SALE. This maxi is also covering up a new accessory, a knee brace I’m having to wear to keep my knee stable. An MRI tomorrow will show my orthopedic doctor what’s going on with my knee. I don’t think I’ll be doing too much dancing, but hey, welcome 63!

Happy Father’s Day to my sweet Daddy!

It’s been 47 days since you left your earthly body.
We celebrated your birthday 8 days after you passed away, which was a first for us.

It will be a year of first, sadly.

This is my first Father’s Day without you. I know you loved me so very much because I feel the sting of your absence so deep in my heart. I miss the sound of your voice, and your warm, big, yet gentle hugs.

I‘ve been strong, because that is who you raised me to be. I’m taking care of Mom and Paula. I promised you that I would do that.

I’m grateful for my faith in Jesus, because I know I will see you again one day.

You were the best Daddy and I was one lucky girl to have you.

I will thank God everyday for allowing you to be my dad. And for having you here for 62 years.

This last week has been incredibly hard and sad, losing my daddy. My Momma’s faith in Jesus is so strong. We know that we will see him again. She loved my Daddy dearly but knows he is in a much better place now.

While we will deeply miss him, his encouragement, love, and sense of humor on this side of eternity, we have faith and hope that we will see him again.

I’m grateful for another year! We had a lovely dinner at @theoptimist in Atlanta last night to celebrate my birthday. It is such a good restaurant that never disappoints with delicious drinks, food and phenomenal service. It’s one of our FAVORITE restaurants to eat at.

I’m hoping this weekend we can get together with the kids, grandkids and mom. The BEST gift for me is time spent with family.
