The humidity has been off the charts here, and the amount of rain we have had hasn’t done us any favors. It’s all about staying cool and collected as you go about your day. This can be challenging with the humidity and in mid-life. I found that culottes/cropped pants have been really easy to wear this summer. They are loose, lightweight and easy to move in. They are great for me when doing my weekly grocery run which consists of going to 3 different stores. I want to be comfortable when I’m jumping in and out of the car. I also want to be able to bend and move to load and unload groceries. I also want to look nice when I’m out, because you know you are always going to run into people you know. These particular cropped pants are from JJill. I liked the pattern and colors and have already thought about how well they will transition into the fall line up. They will be darling with a pair of booties and a long sleeve top.
They were great to run around in the other day when I had company in from Texas. I wore this light weight tencel top also from JJill with them. This top was a bit full for my liking with the fuller pants, so I decided to tie it up at the waist. This brought the focus in to my waist line, which helps my hour glass shape.
I like a lot of the tops that are out this time of year, because of the weight of the fabrics, patterns and colors. I have found quite a few of the styles of these tops are much fuller at the bottom. They are harder for a busty girl with a smaller waist to wear because of the cut. These tops are good for those of you who carry your weight through your middle section, but I don’t back down from these styles, I just rework them. I try to encourage all my clients to not shy away from these because of these issues but try belting, tying or twisting and tucking these tops for a more flattering look at the bottom line.
How have you stayed cool and collected this summer?
