Coloring Outside the Lines

2018 has arrived, and I’m feeling a little unprepared. I have to admit I got a bit under the weather during Christmas, but like I have done in years past, I kept plugging along. I was hoping I would out run this little bug that seemed to be lingering. This time that wasn’t the case, I did all my home remedies and even rested in bed for 2 days. I finally admitted defeat the Friday before New Year’s and called into the Dr. They were most kind to get me in that day, and antibiotics did the trick so I was able to enjoy a wonderful New Year’s downtown.

We ate a lovely meal at Polaris, atop the Hyatt Regency. It has a beautiful view of the city at all angles due to it being at the top of the building, and also because it’s a rotating roof top restaurant. The cocktails and food were excellent! It will definitely be a place to go back to. I would enjoy watching the sunset from there when the days get longer and the weather gets a lot  warmer.

So HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If you are new to following me, I’m normally a bit more consistent with my blog than I have been in the last couple weeks. Illness will do that to you.  And for those of you who have been following for a while, my apologies! I would have normally been tied up in knots by now and beating myself up, but it’s a new year, and somehow I’ve decided to start this year off being less hard on myself. I don’t know if you are like this, but I walk the line. I’m all about the rules and staying within the boundaries. I’ve been this way the majority of my adult life. And it has served me well, but this year I’ve decided to color outside the lines.

Yes, I will still be talking about fashion, like this long cozy cardigan and other long knits like this one. (Shop my FAVORITE Cardigans in the Boutique down below) I feel like Linus with his blanket from Charlie Brown. In the colder weather (like most recently) you will find me curled up in a blanket most evenings. When I venture out of the house, long knits like this one are the closest thing to bringing a blanket out with me. What can I say?  I’m an Adult child.

I’m also planning on talking and writing more about makeup, skincare and hair. It’s all part of what I do and who I am.

And let’s not forget about the fact that living near a big city means there’s a lot of great food and fun things to do and see.

If you have anything specific from the above or something I haven’t mentioned, throw it out there, and I’ll see what I can do. I love the feedback from all of you who follow along. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love.

XO
