I spent my summer as a kid at my grandfather’s farm. He owned over 400 acres outside Knoxville, TN. We fished, swam in the lake, water-skied, rode horses, caught scorpions, picked wild blackberries, rode mini bikes, and caught fireflies. We basically were cut loose to do whatever we wanted – we just had to be home when it started getting dark. So my background was loving the outdoors and especially the woods.
This week I got to enjoy the woods before the leaves change, still bright green and full of life. And to make it even better around Atlanta, the weather is finally getting cooler.
So what do you wear when Summer slowly gives way to Fall? If you’re out early in the morning, a lightweight blazer works well in the crisp air. I found this camouflage tank by Philosophy at TJ Maxx in the clearance rack. I really liked the brighter green mixed in with khaki, army green and brown. The tank was the inspiration! You cannot look at this outfit without thinking about nature and the great outdoors. I finished it off with a blazer and belt that I’ve had for a couple years. Both are from Gap and are basically classics. I decided to put them together with these trendy high waisted, destructed straight-legged denim from Forever 21. And with the cooler weather comes the bootie shoes. It feels great to be outside, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of this beautiful season!
PS – I know you don’t see a purse and big watch in the woods too often, but I carry a big purse and always wear a big watch! So there.
