Maroon and Mint – you probably wouldn’t have thought of these colors as friends when going through your closet. What makes fashion fun and personal is the fact that you can make it your own. This tweed blazer is about 10 years old, and you may be able to tell the age due to the shorter cut on the blazer compared to other blazers/jackets that are out this season. I found these maroon mid-rise waisted denim at Target of all places. The shorter jacket with the higher waistband works well for me, because I have more of an hourglass figure. I like to play up the good point and play down the bad. My smaller waist I like, my bigger hips not as much, so the darker maroon plays down the difference between the two.

I then decided to throw in the leopard booties and mint top. The tweed blazer has a great texture and so many different color threads running through it, so the unlikely mint was a fun color to mix in. The leopard booties are the same colors that are in the little bits in the tweed…..actually the same pattern but in a bigger form in the spots on the shoes.

Be bold with your color and pattern combinations. Fashion should be fun! Style is all about the attitude you convey and it comes from with in.

Can you tell I’m all about having fun?
