We got together as a family early this year to celebrate the holidays. Now when I say “early”, I mean a couple days before Christmas. When you have a large family, you grab time with them whenever you can. I love having a big family, but the holidays can be hectic, so it’s all about being flexible. One year we may celebrate before Christmas and the next year it might be after Christmas. The biggest gift for me is spending time with them.
Family is everything to me!
We always chronicle our time together with pictures. I’ve enjoyed looking back at our past Christmases together this last week with Facebook Memories. And also seeing what I wore.
This plaid dress was what I wore last week for Christmas with the kids. It was an easy choice, because it’s loose fitting. The length makes it easy for me to get down on the floor and play with the grandkids too.
I decided I’d wear a different belt with this dress and went with a leather wrap belt. I took the tie belt that came with the dress and wore it like as a bow around my neck. I think it gave the dress a little more polished look.
This black patent faux leather Moto jacket and suede thigh high boots finished this look.
That’s how I wore this dress for the holidays.
Now I’ll show you how I’ll wear it after the holidays.
I’ve added a chunky taupe colored sweater to the mix. I like the texture this knit brings to this outfit and pulls out the lighter shades in this plaid. I took off the tie belt and added a red belt bag to make this more of a casual chic look.
The light tan suede boots are a slouchy boot. This is the perfect heel height for wearing all day.
This dress can also be worn as a kimono with either a cream top and denim or all black outfit and a pair of booties or trainers.
Three ways to wear this plaid dress through the next couple months make it a great addition to my closet.
