Reflecting On What’s Important

I’ve been reflecting on all that has transpired in the last 6 weeks. And for the record, an isolated life is not for me. I wasn’t made to be separated from family and friends. When I was a kid, I never could play by myself, and I would have rather been strung up by toe nails than to be alone. I’ve always known this about myself, but I didn’t realize what an impact it would make in my life. And who knew we would have to experience it? I need people! My personality is such that being out around others gives me energy, it fuels my soul.

The one thing that has kept me going creatively has been going outside.

So here’s my outfit of the day. It was shot out in this beautiful patch of tall grasses as the sun was setting. And there was a slight breeze that made the grasses sway like they were dancing as the sun slowly went down.

This dress is from Target, which has been just about the only place open until recently.

It’s from the ‘“WHOWHATWEAR” Collection there at our local Target. I think a wrap dress is a lovely on all figures. The one I’m wearing runs true to size and I’m wearing a size small. The dress has a detachable belt, and this is a plus, because it can be used tied in your hair, around your neck or even on a handbag.

Today is the second day that our shelter-in-place here in Atlanta, Georgia has been lifted to a degree we can come and go. It’s a surreal feeling to know you are free to leave, but choosing what to do first is a different feeling. I don’t know what that would look like for you, but for me it definitely means seeing my family.

Frankie is coming to stay a couple days with us, and I couldn’t be more excited to have her. We are meeting her Momma half way between our house and hers to pick her up. She is bringing her bike to ride. She is so proud that she has learned how to ride with the bigger kids on her street.

We also got to see Navy and his mom and dad before his little sister arrives maybe right at the end of the weekend. It’s such an exciting time in the middle of all this craziness. We even got to see the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds fly over Atlanta today, and that was such a thrill.

I hope you’re able to stay in close touch with those you love too!
