Hiding Out In Comfort And Style

Have you been hiding out in comfort and style? I didn’t start out that way 5 weeks ago, or is it 6 weeks? Anyway, I was thrilled to wear loungewear as we stayed put. I did after a while notice, that lounge wear, although it was quite cozy, was not exactly motivating me to do much of anything.

We were getting out during the day to enjoy the fresh air and get a few things done, but once back in and showered, into my lounge/pajamas I would go. I told myself, “who cares what you look like?, no one’s going to see you. I did a little personal reassessing and decided I cared what I looked like and how I dress during this time. And if it didn’t matter to anyone else, it sure mattered to me!

That’s when I started getting dressed every day, putting on my makeup and doing a little something with my hair. The change that self-care can do for you emotionally makes a big difference on how you look at your life and your circumstances.

I picked up this jumpsuit while I was out west visiting my Aunt and Uncle. I had driven my parents to Oklahoma to visit family, never realizing within 2 weeks of returning that we would be house bound due to this crazy virus. I’m really glad we decided to go at the last minute, because I have such sweet memories of our visit together with extended family. I cherish the time we had with my 2 aunts and uncles and my cousin and her 2 girls.

One afternoon while we were there visiting, we ran into the little town of Duncan, Oklahoma to get out of the house for a few hours. I found this jumpsuit in a boutique there in the center of town. A fun fact about Duncan, Oklahoma is it’s the Capital of the Crêpe Myrtle Tree.

This camouflage knit jumpsuit is as easy to wear as lounge wear and workout clothes but looks professional enough to conduct business through Zoom and FaceTime. It looks cute with a chambray button-up blouse on, tied at the waist. I also have a vintage bright pink linen blazer that would elevate the jumpsuit to my kind of business casual, and all it would require would be to change the sandals to a pair of pink pumps.

I’ve found a few more different styles of jumpsuit down below and linked them if you are looking for more neutral colors.

How we dress is so personal from one person to the next. What I wear definitely depends on how I feel that day, but it can also help me feel more positive and confident in my circumstances. I’d like to hear what you think about this!

And what you’ve been wearing to work from home?

XO
