The holidays are behind us, and we’ve officially entered that weird transitionary phase between Christmas and Spring. On cold Winter days, I keep myself busy by playing around with seasonal makeup. While most people spend the winter months trying to find the best foundation, it’s important to make sure we’re taking care of our lips as well. Afterall, there’s no denying that winter is unofficially lipstick season. There are so many must have lipstick shades to wear this Winter! From neutral/natural tones to bold dark hues, your options are honestly endless. And if I’m truly being honest, I’m always looking for an excuse to try out new winter lipstick shades.
Must have Red Lipstick Shades
If there’s any time of the year to rock a red lip, it’s now! A red lip adds sex appeal to any outfit, it’s a timeless look and it’s a makeup bag essential that every woman should have. You can showcase a glossy red or matte red with ease during the winter months. And if you really want to stand out this season, try a bold, bright red lipstick.
Looking for a red lipstick you’ll love? I always suggest considering your skin tone and your skin’s undertone to find the perfect match. At the end of the day, red lipstick is universally flattering. It exudes confidence and it’s a color that’ll turn heads but never too overpowering to the rest of your features. Below, I’ve put together some of my favorite red lipsticks you’ll want to swipe on your lips again and again.

Christian Dior Lipstick
If you’re looking for luxurious lipsticks, then look no further than the Christian Dior brand. There is something about luxury lipsticks that warm me up inside- from the look and feel, to how long it wears. Dior is one of my favorite brands I shop when I want long-lasting coverage. I love the sheer application and how it feels like virtually nothing is on my lips. Dior lipsticks glide right on and melt into your lips for even color. This brand is great for moisturizing and protecting your lips so that they will look youthful and plump all day.
I personally love the Dior Addict line. A lot of the shades I wear come from this particular line. Made with 90% natural-origin ingredients including jasmine wax and plum oil, the Dior Addict Shine Lipsticks have a hydrating formulation that glides effortlessly on the lips, providing a lightweight shine. There are currently 44 shades available, and I have shared my top 4 looks below.

Bobbi Brown Lipstick
Bobbi Brown is a line that I’ve been using for a very long time. These lipsticks are best known for reliability, pleasant feel on the lips and hydration attributes. I love wearing shades with different intensities. I own several Bobbi Brown lipstick shades and I typically base the color off of my mood and the outfit I’m wearing that day. In the wintertime, the colors vary from nudes and plums to bold red hues. These are really comfortable to wear, with their semi-matte finishes, creamy but lightweight texture, and rich color coverage.
Some shades pulled into my lip lines, while some emphasized my natural lip texture. The wear typically lasts between three and six hours with some of the darker shades leaving subtle stains behind. Here are my favorite Bobbi Brown hues to wear in the Winter.

Corresponding your makeup look to the season is always the best course of action- especially when it comes to lipstick. Moodier weather naturally ushers in moodier lipstick shades perfect for movie dates in your knit sweater and winter boots. While the cold weather may have us feeling a little blue, I think we can all agree on the fact that lipstick can take your look from casual to WOW!
This was very helpful and interesting! Thanks for sharing with us!❤️
Hi Nancy,
