Bring On Spring

The weekend is almost here! Are you like me? I live for the time you can actually take a breath and relax – Lounge around the house and get caught up on some of my favorite shows. It’s great to not have to rush out the door to be somewhere.

I also enjoy grabbing a bite to eat with friends or going to the movies.

We used to have a Friday night date night. We would head to dinner and then to the movies. The best times were spent with other couples, because after the movie was out, we could discuss what we liked or didn’t like about what we had just seen. I remember a time when the Academy Awards would come on, and we would actually have seen the majority of the movies nominated. This year I only knew a couple of movies up for an award. My husband was a little more informed because of his business travels. He was able to see a few more movies than me, because he got to see them on airplanes. In the last 6 years we have kind of let that date night time die off. It wasn’t intentional, life just got busy. I’m thinking it’s time to resurrect that old Friday night ritual.

The weekends are also a fun time to catch up with all my kids and grandkids. Family is everything to me. It’s quite a balancing act to keep up with my crew. That’s not a complaint by any means, it’s something that I strive to do and do well. That also goes along with checking in on my parents. I’m very fortunate to have my parents 5 miles away. They are in wonderful health, and we can usually see them at least twice a week. I try and stay involved with all their appointments from the doctors to hair appointments.

Now, on to what I’ve been wearing. Life is always wonky and all over the place for me. Family, clients, community, special events, the blog, birthdays and whatever else can demand my attention. I’m sure you are probably thinking this women is all bonkers. She’s all over the place and can’t get her shizzle together. And for a lot of you I’m probably quite maddening. But to be honest, my heart is in the right place. I’m a doer and love to help others. I also hate to disappoint anyone. So is it any wonder when I’m going like this I want a more relaxed look? If I could get away with loose athletic wear everyday, I would!

The next best thing though is a wide straight leg pair of denim. Isn’t this denim cute? The big cuff with this pink detailed stitching gave it that little extra punch. A relaxed pair of denim makes everything better on the days when you feel like you’re chasing your tail. I know this denim will look so cute with a v-neck tee and a pair of sneakers.

I have to say I’m excited to see all different types of denim this season. ( I have also gone and dug out some of my older pairs of denim. These are jeans I couldn’t get rid of and paid a good bit of money for. Vintage denim is always in style at my house. )

I’m tired of keeping up with a jacket, sweater or trench coat when I’m out. Most of the mornings it’s a bit chilly here, then warms up until it turns dark. We’re in our fourth day of spring and I’m ditching the coat.

Ballon sleeves are still big this season, and I’m happy they are. This blouse screamed “Spring” to me with all the punches of colors and the floral pattern it has. It too has a more of a pajama, lounge loose-like fit. I think this blouse must have shouted “Spring” not only to me but to a lot of other people too. It is already sold out. I have gathered up similar items down below for you all to look at. This blouse has a peasant type style even though it buttons up the front. This style of top looks great casual with Bermuda shorts here and here and a cute pair of scrappy sandals. I also would wear this blouse with a neutral colored midi skirt or basic denim skirt for a dressier look for dinner and a movie or a girls night out. I’d add a slide with a chunky heel or wedge sandal and a straw clutch bag.

Lately I have been wearing the same three necklaces. I like mixing metals and the multi-length chains. I don’t take them off most of the time. I did add this “L” necklace into the mix. I have several initial necklaces too, but I like the big bold letter this one has.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and being part of my life as well as my fashion journeys.

Have a great First Weekend of Spring!

XO
