Hi Everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. I really enjoy the long holiday weekends because I love exploring the city I live in. I drag my sweet man out, and off we go on an adventure. The majority of these explorations consist of a walk about. We like looking for new areas around Atlanta, and why not get a little exercise while your out? So we will normally look for parks we haven’t been to. Did you know that the Atlanta area’s green space is composed of 343 parks, natural preserves, gardens and public spaces. There are about 3,622 acres in all. There is a lot to be seen and do in this big city.

After we go out and about making Atlanta our playground, its fun finding a new restaurant to try. Another plus for living in or near a big city is, there is a plethora of restaurants to choose from. Atlanta is such a melting pot with its diverse communities you can always find just about anything you may be looking for to eat.

Memorial Day weekend is always very special for me. I’m, what they call, a military brat! Yes, I know it’s hard to imagine that, but alas it’s true. My father is retired from the Air Force. He retired a Lieutenant Colonel from Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland. He was a pilot and part of Air Force One and Two’s flight crew.

On Sunday we will attend church, like we always do. My parents live close by and attend the same church. My daddy will wear his same uniform, believe it or not? Yes, it still fits him, and gosh do I hope I inherited that part of the gene pool. As long as they have lived here (over 12 years), I have tried to get a picture with him in his uniform each year. Its kind of cool as I look at my Facebook feed and see the Memorial Day pictures throughout the years. Dad in his same uniform and me in all my different styles. He hasn’t changed a whole lot, for me however….. thats a different story.

Normally on this weekend we get together with my momma and daddy on Monday on the actual holiday. We will grill out like the majority of the populous. I think we are grilling shish Kebab, which is one of my favorites. This year it will be a little different because my husband is in China. He will return this Wednesday and I’ll be a super happy woman.

I’m still planning a little adventure of my own though in the form of shopping. This is a great weekend to shop due to all the fabulous sales going on. I’ve listed a few of the sales below if you want to take advantage of the savings as well.
