Palazzo Please

Palazzo pants (British English = Palazzo trousers, Indian English = Pantada) are long women’s trousers cut with a loose, extremely wide leg that flares out from the waist.

Palazzo trousers are popular as a summer season style, as they are loose and tend to be flattering in light, flowing fabrics that are breathable in hot weather.

The palazzo pant were similar to the wide cuffed trousers that were made popular in the 1930’s and 1940’s by the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. These pants became popular again in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. They became fashionable for women during this time, because certain high end restaurants wouldn’t allow women into their establishments with trousers on. Trousers were considered inappropriate for women to wear out, so the palazzo pant was born out of the rebellion of women who refused to wear the traditional skirts that were in style at that time.

I’ve had these palazzo pants for a while. It was the bright colors that attracted me to them and why I purchased this pair. It’s one big color party on these pants with all the vibrant colors and fun pattern.  I paired them with this gray tank with bright trim, because the pants are bold on their own. I also am wearing these wonderful wedges that were gifted from Antelope shoes. I think they are a perfect match with the pants!  I’m so thrilled with these beauties! They will be getting a lot of wear this summer because of the color–this bright blue goes with so many pieces I have in my wardrobe. These wedges are extremely comfortable too, so that will makes them an easy wear! Use the code down below and save $30 off a pair of Antelope shoes!

When I wear palazzo pants or a loose and oversize bottom, I always like to wear a more fitted top. If I were to wear an oversized top, I would go for a bottom like a skinny or straight trouser or denim. It’s all about balance for me. I’m small through my shoulders and I’m busty. I have a small waist, which is something I like to play up. I believe everyone has one thing they like about themselves, or it may be multiple things, or may be you have never thought about this at all. Well, here’s your chance – give it a try and see what you find. It is all about accentuating the positive and downplaying or camouflaging (what I like to say) the negative.
