With the weather being so nice and very uncharacteristic for this time of year, I thought, why not take advantage of all this? So I packed up my backpack and headed into the city.
I love where I live, but as time has passed and I’ve gotten older, I have figured out that I’m a city girl. Now it always hasn’t been this way! In fact, I dreamed of living in the country, owning land and having lots of animals. Well, that never happened, and quite frankly, I’m so thankful it didn’t! I love my city and all it affords me, so on this particular day, I loaded up and headed out for an adventure.
My son and daughter-in-law live downtown, so I love having an excuse to head down to see them as well. Atlanta has the Beltline, a wonderful urban recreational walkway/bike trail. It runs off the old Atlanta railways and runs 22 miles through the city. This trail takes you from parks to outdoor shopping to delicious restaurants, all the while showing some amazing creative public art by local up-and-coming artists.
The weather was so nice, and comfy clothes were key. With this in mind, destructed denim, lightweight cotton t-shirt, cardigan, and a pair of worn-in boots were the attire of the day.
As I was walking out the door, I grabbed this hat that I found out in Colorado last summer. It turned out to be such a lovely day – being outside, walking, talking, meeting people, finding a couple new shops, and being a city traveler.
