As the days get shorter and a good portion of the Atlanta population longs for cooler weather, (which seems to be eluding us this year) we get rain. Yes, the humidity is already high, but the rain seems to knock the temps down a hair, and in return crank up the humidity. It seems a bit ridiculous until I look around the country and see the flooding in Louisiana, fires in California, then I think I really shouldn’t even be complaining. For me life is all about perspective!
So today I was waiting for the heat of the day to die down to shoot the #OOTD while trying to beat out the rain that was forecast for this evening, (why does everything have to be a fine balancing act?) That rain defeated me last night with a harsh thunderstorm that brought flash flooding to some of the surrounding areas. I was determined to have a fun evening and hopefully look nice too. This night was made even more special because it’s Friday…..Date Night at our house. Date Nights for us tend to consist of trying out new restaurants(doesn’t have to be pricey but fun and interesting) and a movie. I like any excuse to dress up! This #OOTD is a mix of old and new – this skirt is 15 years old and from Gap, it’s also 100% Silk. I picked this button up a couple days ago at TJ Maxx. I’m excited to see how many different things I can wear this blouse with this Fall.
Well as you can see, I did get the outfit shot just in time before the rain came in! It didn’t ruin my evening, it’s just another rainy night in Georgia!
