Last night our college football team played its first game. We are from Tennessee, Knoxville to be exact, so we are Tennessee Volunteers fans. It’s where my husband attended college, and all 3 of our boys are big fans as well. It’s a huge deal at our house, and there is quite a lot of build up each year for the first game. It’s like that with most college teams I’m guessing. I don’t really know, because I have only dedicated my fall seasons to one college team since I’ve been married to my sweet man. Our team barely won, but a win nonetheless.
Before the game started, I had my sweet love snap some picture of my outfit. I’m so very glad I did, because today’s weather has been overcast with drizzly rain most of the morning. The weather will no doubt change while I’m writing this…that’s Georgia weather for you! It’s football season – it’s almost Fall.
Yesterday’s outfit is a great outfit for the crazy weather, when the days are cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon and then cool again in the evening. I’m tired of wearing shorts right now, and jeans are just too hot in the afternoons. This is a striped baseball tee dress with 3/4 sleeves, which is common in baseball tees. I wore this in the Spring without the jacket and with my Adidas sneakers. I paired it yesterday with these metallic lace-up shoes from Madewell. I found these while I was in Atlanta at Buffalo Exchange. It’s always exciting to find a deal at a thrift store, and these shoes were just that. The soles had barely any wear on them. These metallic shoes will also go great with jeans or khakis and a button down shirt.
This denim jacket I’ve had for years – I also have a white denim one as well. I like that this jacket doesn’t have a collar, so it’s easy to wear a large statement necklace or a scarf with. I’m wearing a silk scarf that I received as a gift years ago. I have so many silk scarves I’ve collected through the years. I’m glad that these lovelies are back in fashion. Scarves are such wonderful accessories. They can be worn several different ways…around your neck, in a suit jacket/blazer as a pocket square or even as a belt depending upon the length. I like scarves as a headband or a head wrap too. Be creative in your thinking when you’re putting your outfits together. Also checking the Weather Channel on the TV or weather app on your phone is an easy way to keep ahead of the Georgia weather game.
