When someone mentions jeans and a tee, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?
Well for me my first thought is comfy, casual, sneaker kind of weekend wear, thats because when I was young that’s what we wore on the weekends and after school.
When I was growing up, this kind of clothing was called dungarees! I would get home from school and have to change into play clothes/dungarees. They were mostly older, worn out clothes that had holes in the knees, faded and had gotten plenty of wear. We would never go out looking like this, but we could play all we wanted in them. It was great not worrying about what I got on them or if the holes got bigger. We wore them until they didn’t fit, or we just wore them out. My, how times have changed!
My momma sews. I remember being out with momma when the worn in denim was just coming out. She looked at me and asked
“Do people really pay this much for jeans with holes in them?”
It makes me smile and laugh to think of where fashion has come and gone.
Jeans and a Tee are so different than they used to be! They are still so comfortable, but they are worn so very differently now and in so many different ways!
I had a dentist appointment the other day, which is always fun. I actually don’t mind going, as crazy as that sounds. I knew I would be sitting for a while, so my #ootd was relaxed girlfriend denim and vintage wash v neck tee. I dressed it up with a blazer and this Boho Style Rhinestone necklace. I couldn’t decide on a belt, so I wore both of them! Throw in a bit of Python with this bag and a bracelet, and there you have it.
Jeans & Tees have come a long way since I was a child!
What’s your favorite way to wear your jeans and tees? And how do you like to dress them up?
