Baby Sprinkle/Shower

Hey guys! As I’m writing this, I’m curled up in my bed with my sweet granddaughter, Frankie Rae snuggled up next to me. She’s been sick today and stayed home from school. Even though Frankie has been puny today, she still has been such a joy to be around. She is going to be a wonderful big sister. Her Momma, (my daughter) is due January 15th with a little boy. We can’t wait to meet him. As I look at Frankie, it’s hard to believe she will be 4 years old in February. I was there in the delivery room when she was born, and what a glorious day that was. I’ll be there when her brother decides to make his debut. Frankie is so excited to have a brother, we’ll see how excited she is when he arrives. I have no doubt that she will be a huge help to her momma, because she really is at the age where she wants to see, learn and do whatever you happen to be doing. She has lots of questions she asks too. She’s like a sponge soaking up all she can.

My daughter had a delightful shower, given by her best friend. It wasn’t considered a “Baby Shower” it was called a “Sprinkle” because it was for her second child. When I had my kids we called them all showers. It’s a cute name, but who thinks these things up? There were delicious brunch foods and mimosas. Jessica received some wonderful outfits and other needed items for little boy. It was special to be surrounded by family and friends and to feel all their love and support. We are so very blessed to be loved so well.

Here is what I wore to the Sprinkle, this stylish asymmetrical midi dress. Don’t you love the hemline? This dress was gifted from Chico’s but is sold out. (I’ll give you several different options down below.) When I look at midi dresses, I tend to look for interesting patterns, unusual sleeves and funky hemlines or slits. This dress had several of the details that I really love. It had a cool retro-like stripe print and this amazing handkerchief hemline. A midi dress is something I like to wear with booties and a leather jacket in the cooler months, as I did here. This dress also can look sporty/casual with a pair of sneakers and a denim jacket.

What a special celebration!

I still can’t believe this little one will be here in little over a month. For me he will be the most precious gift our family could receive this year!
