Venice Beach

While I was in LA, the weather was so lovely. It really was the weather I like the most with a little breeze and temps ranging from the high 60’s to the mid to low 70’s. I also need to add no humidity. It’s wild how much the humidity makes it feel so much warmer than it actually is.

I took off one day, and I went to Venice Beach and shopped around. What a fun and interesting beach to go to. I was so looking forward to people watching. This beach has so much going on there. As I got closer in and parked, I walked down an area one street up from the main beach road. I decided to stop into several cute boutiques. I think it’s interesting to talk to the people that live in the area. It’s also a great way to find out about hidden little treasures that only the locals know about.

My outfit for the day was simple, because when I shop, I want something quick and easy to get in and out of. This light A-line dress from H&M was just the right piece to wear. The easy button up front made me a very speedy quick change artist. The high low hemline is so on trend this season and looks good on all body types. And the dress looks cute with an assortment of shoes from flip-flops, strappy sandals to trainers.

I paired the dress with these flats from Free People that I had purchased in Knoxville, TN a few weeks prior. I wasn’t sure about all I could wear with these shoes, but I’ve been quite surprised on all that they go with. I’ve also looked into purchasing another pair to have for fall. They come in a nice light taupe-grey color as well as a rich saddle brown shade. I walked a couple miles wearing these shoes, and although they weren’t as comfortable as a trainer would be, my feet had no complaints. Another reason I’m thinking about making an investment into another pair.

My hat is from Lack of Color and was a great find from a thrift store there at Venice Beach. I was happy to have it as a storm came in and threatened to ruin the afternoon. It finally blew over, and I was able to walk down to the oceanfront sidewalk and stroll along and take in the views. There is something about a noonday shower at the beach. You know after it passes when the sun comes out. it makes the sky the most radiant shade of blue. Views like these never get old to me! If I’m out during a sunrise or sunset, I stop and pause and take it in. I’m thankful to be present and witnessing all the magically colors the skies have to offer.

As I’m finishing up this post, I have my sweet granddaughter asking me “When can we start our day?’“ We have big plans of heading to the nail salon and getting our hands and toes done. Then it’s on to the park to run, climb and swing out a little bit of her energy.

And maybe we’ll get to take in another sunset together! Fingers closed!

I hope you’re taking the time to enjoy the big and little things in life.

And Thank you for taking a minute out of your day to follow along.

BIG love to you and yours!

XO
