When I wear denim in the summer, it’s a pair of wide leg jeans I will go and grab. This pair I found months ago and have enjoyed wearing them and I’ll tell you why. They are high waisted and fit my hourglass, curvy body like a dream. This cut of denim is made for my body type, they fit comfortably at my waist, but don’t dig into my waistline when I sit down. They are roomie through the thigh but not sloppy looking. I like the fuller leg and wide leg opening. I’m wearing neutral colored flats today, so the pants puddle a bit at the bottom. I like these pants with a white tee knotted-up and a pair of platform sneakers for a more casual look. If I were to wear them on a date night, they would be paired with a silk camisole and strappy sandals. The button fly reminds me of a pair I wore when my kids were younger. I wish I had kept those jeans, although I think I was wearing a bigger size then. I just remember I really liked the color of the denim, and they were a little more worn in.
This button up top is from Target. I don’t normally shop at Target for clothes, I’ve shopped for lots of others things there, just haven’t done much clothes shopping for myself. This was purchased when there wasn’t anything else open, and I was happy to be out doing something that was close to being normal. When I saw this top, it reminded me of a couple of tops I had seen from Madewell. A simple, classic button-up with a short cropped sleeve. It’s a bit oversized through the trunk area, which I like. It looks good tied up, worn half tucked or tucked all in.
The woven straw bag I actually found at Target too. I’m really excited about this bag. I’ll be able to carry this bag as a large tote and pool/beach bag.
I’m praying we can go to the pool and take Frankie Rae. She loves to swim. In years past, I’ve taken her to my Mom and Dad’s pool, and we’ve made a day of it. We’d pack a lunch to eat and swim all day. I don’t know what that will look like this year, but I hope we’ll be able to take the little ones out to play in the water. My parents definitely looked forward to having them come over.
Speaking of my grandchildren I wanted to let you guys know I have a new granddaughter. Her name is Jimi Iris, and she was born May 3, 2020. She is growing like a weed and almost weighs 10lbs now. We were able to finally meet her a couple weeks ago. She has brought a lot of happiness into our lives!
