Weddings are magical! Anytime I’m asked to work, help or participate in one of these ceremonies, I’m all in. The electricity in the air is so invigorating, as you watch the hours of preparation finally coming together.
In most of the weddings I’ve been to I’m working, but it doesn’t feel like work! It’s such an honor to be part of each couple’s special day. So choosing what to wear to a wedding in my world is quite important.
Remember there is always a photographer taking lots of pictures. Most of the focus during a wedding is on the bride and groom, but so many of the pictures that get taken are of the people who are there to watch the wedding. So I always try to be aware of where those cameras are. And it’s important to me to look my best, since as I said, I typically have helped the bride or someone in the wedding party with their makeup or their hair. I guess I feel like I’m kind of on Team Wedding, and I’m representing the bride and groom.
Anyway, I chose a black lace dress for this special wedding, and yes, I did do the bride’s makeup. She looked beautiful, and the wedding was held in a high-rise tower in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. I would have to say that’s the first wedding I’ve been to that was on the 26th floor.
