Vested

I’d like to share with you that I’ve never gotten tired of wearing a sweater vest. I’ve had multiple ones in my closet through the years. And every once in a while I luck into wearing something that is “on trend”. I wore a sweater vest here in this post from years ago and still have it. In fact, I still have all the clothes from this post. It’s one of many reasons I try to stay in shape the best I can! Exercising is good for my health, and I have too many clothes that I love, that I want to make sure I can fit into.

I know that was random, but for those of you who follow me on Instagram, I try and encourage everyone to move and be active. Especially during these time when we have haven’t been able to go and do things with our family and friends. It has saved me and has helped tame my stress level. It has also rescued my husband from my moody attitudes. I just get out and walk and or run when I feel the walls closing in.

Back to the outfit.

This sweater vest in today’s post is made shorter in the front and longer in the back. I like that it is a longer vest, because I think this would look super over a long shirt dress belted down with thigh high boots. Today, I’ve worn this vest with a classic white button up from Ralph Lauren. If you know me, you know I’m not one to tell you what to wear, I’ll suggest items and pieces. It’s up to you how and what you decide is right for you to wear. A classic button is something I suggest to everyone.

The pants are high waisted cropped straight leg denim. I picked these because I wanted a neutral monochromatic look. And as I said before, I normally would belt this, because I tend to feel like I look thick. I’m a curvy girl and have learned to embrace that part of me. I also picked these cropped denim so they would fit easier into these riding boots. I really liked the way it turned out.

Golden hour was just that, a magnificent time to shoot this look.

There are two things I want you to note.

I’ve shot in these tall grasses before and loved the way the pictures turned out! They are here, (so you can take a peek if you like) hence the reason I wanted to shoot this outfit in the same area. What I need to tell you is a friend of my photographer had been out running a couple days before, and saw a huge black snake crawl across the sidewalk and up into this hilly area. I was told this only a hour before we headed to take these. Eeek! The whole shoot I was eye balling the grass hoping and praying I didn’t happen to meet up with Mr. Black snake.

Things aren’t always as they appear.

What I can say is to look at your wardrobe as an investment. And for me over the years a vest was just that, a good choice. I’m leaving you with a nice selection of all kinds of sweater vests to look at down below. Tell me what you think! And as always, thank you for taking the time from you busy schedule to come follow along.
