Do you dream or have goals for yourself? I think a lot of people think that when you get to a certain age, your only goal should be to stay healthy, somewhat fit and coast on with life. I think that as we age, that should be a priority! And especially if you have raised children (and your concentration has been on others), I do think it’s smart to focus some attention on yourself. We only have one body, and we do need to make sure we’re taking care of it. But I’m talking more about trying new things (bucket list type stuff).
This blog for me is like that! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be writing about fashion, makeup, hair and style. I wasn’t super interested in school, at least not for learning. For me it was more social. Do I regret that? A little. Would I want a do over? No thank you!
I can, however, redirect myself now and learn and grow in my writing through this blog. So my plan is after a year, I will look back and evaluate where I started and where I’ve been, what was well received and what wasn’t, where I’m going and to set some more goals. And hopefully, if you’re still here on this ride with me, you’ll get to watch and read where we end up. I’m excited, and I hope you all are too, because I feel like we’re in this together!
So while we’re on the topic of goals and bucket list items, one of my bucket list dreams has been to ride in an hot air balloon. I’m not talking about going high or far but going up and coming down. I think they are beautiful to watch and see. There is a huge air balloon festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico each year in October. I’ve read that it’s the biggest air balloon festival in the world. It’s a nine-day event with over 500 balloons! Can you just imagine? All those colorful balloons going up in the air! It’s got to be spectacular!
So today’s #OOTD is inspired from my bucket list! Both top and denim are from Zara. This blouse is just fun! I decided I wanted a pair of distressed denim. What’s great about these is where they are distressed there is a patch underneath. You can’t see it, but it means no skin shows through. I know that has made a lot of women shy away from this look, not wanting to show their thighs or knees through the holes. And for those of you that feel that way, hooray! – this takes care of the problem! This beautiful Rebecca Minkoff bag was from my family for my birthday (which was at the end of July!)
So what are your dreams, and what’s on your bucket list?
