As the weather begins to cool off and the days begin to shorten, I start looking at transitioning my closet from summer to fall. This is when I go through and look at all of my summer pieces new and old to see what will get put up for next summer, taken to consignment or given away to several different organizations I donate to. I also look for those summer pieces that can get recycled into the fall lineup. It’s all about being creative and switching it up.
Today, I’m showing you a cropped wide leg pant (similar here and here) that was purchased at the end of spring. I picked up this Polka dot top by “Who What Wear” from Target (on sale) a month ago. I’m going to show how to wear these two pieces but switch it up! The first things I look at are the colors, and what they might be able to be paired with in my fall clothes. This pair of pants and top won’t work when it gets really cold, but here in Atlanta we don’t have long, really cold winters. These pieces will be easy to work with until the colder weather comes.
Here I’ve given you two different ways to wear these pants and top by simply changing the shoes, jacket, bag and earrings. I’ve worn this outfit during the summer with a light gray pump, classic light blue blazer, blue tote bag, and cream and white statement earrings. To switch up this outfit for fall I’ve added a black Moto jacket, Silver Tote, black and white stripped earrings, and studded black sandals.
Switch It Up!
