Summer Gray

Gray has become a big color in my wardrobe. Well, let me rephrase that…Gray has become a great neutral in my closet. I think it’s better then black–that doesn’t mean I won’t wear black, but gray works just as well. It has always been a color I wore a great deal during the fall and winter, but I have really enjoyed the lighter shades of gray for spring and summer. It might have something to do with letting my hair go natural, because when my hair was darker I felt washed out wearing this color. Whatever the case may be, I’m enjoying wearing all shades of gray!

This shift dress is a perfect example of that lighter gray shade. It is so easy to wear and very comfortable. The dress has a boxy shape, and because of the pocket placement and banded collar, I knew I had to do something to give it a feminine touch. I paired it with these white leather and rhinestone sandals and this rhinestone pendant. I added in the straw tan and gray clutch for texture.

When the weather gets cooler, I’ll enjoy this shift with a long cardigan or duster and ankle boots. Another great way to wear this in the fall/winter would be to add a black long sleeve top, black tights and tall black boots.

When I’m out shopping and find something I want to purchase, I always try to see how many different way I can incorporate the piece into my wardrobe. How many ways can it be worn with what I already have?
