Spring Bouquet

This has been an exciting week in our house. On Tuesday, my sweet daddy celebrated his 81st birthday. We had dinner over at their house with him and my momma. What a special time we had with him! We cooked filets, and my mom made 2 pies for him. One was a chocolate pie (her favorite), and the other was an ice box cream peach pie. Guess which one I picked!  Oh my gosh, were they (both) delicious! Haha!

Yesterday my youngest son, Lawson, graduated from the school of Business and Marketing at Georgia Gwinnett College. It was a perfect day with fluffy white clouds and the sun deciding to show up right at the very end of commencement. We slipped out making our way to our favorite Mexican restaurant. We filled our bellies up with chips and salsa, while we watched Frankie Rae gobble up cheese dip. She said cheese dip was her favorite, which is no shock to this Mimi at all.

Speaking of favorites, I’m really enjoying all the plants and flowers that are out this time of year.  I just planted some beautiful plants in some huge planters on either side of my front door. I’m hoping they grow well there. The front of my house gets that hot afternoon sun, which has made it a challenge for growing anything there. This year I decided to try succulents in those big planters. I’ll let you know in a couple of weeks whether they made it or not. Keep your fingers crossed.

I also love fresh flowers too. The spring bouquets are what I go for at the grocery store. A vase of flowers placed on the kitchen table always make me smile, as I come through the door.

I feel the same way about floral prints. They make me smile too!  My #ootd was my Easter outfit this year. I knew when I wore it I would talk about it on the blog. I was drawn to the floral print, navy with a mix of orange, pink and yellow.  The cut-out shoulders are a big trend right now with all the of the different cold shoulder styles that every brand is featuring.  I really like the cold shoulder tops that are out now, but you have to wear a strapless bra. The biggest issue too with these tops is keeping the shoulders in place as you go about your day. Yes, I know there is a way to fix the issue with a couple of pins and bit of elastic, but when you’re in a hurry, who wants to deal with that? What I like about this top is you can wear a normal bra, and there’s no hassle with jerry-rigging the top. This top works well for someone who’s not comfortable baring their shoulder and décolletage but wants a similar look. The rest of the outfit details can be found down below. I also added several other tops that are a similar style, but a solid colors for those of you who prefer a solid over a print.

Have a great weekend!
