Spinning Wheel

When I was out a couple weeks ago visiting a dear friend in Athens, I decided to stop in at the local Fabrik. I needed something to wear to a baby shower, so it was a great time to see what they had.

I knew it was going to be warm that following Saturday, and I wanted something comfortable and loose for the shower. When I saw this maxi dress, I immediately thought of when I was younger – (the watercolor/tie dyed look of the 1960’s.) These colors are also some of my favorites as well!

I wasn’t sure about the cut on the dress, because it’s not normally something that I would wear. I don’t mind a racer back neckline, but I wasn’t sure how I would like the fact that the dress has no distinct waistline.  I have hips, so normally a shift won’t work on me. They tend to make me look bigger than I am, or most of the time alterations are required so it fits properly.  I was in a time crunch, so it would either work, or it wouldn’t.

To my great surprise, it worked and fit. I was thrilled!!  I added in the white Jeffery Campbell platform sandals, white Shark watch and white and silver Kendra Scott earrings.  And I finished this outfit with this Jasmine Hobo bag by Oryany. The baby shower was so sweet!! Can’t wait for that little one to get here.

I love a happy ending!
