Soul of a Sole

What comforts your soul? What makes you happy and helps you breeze through the day? Well, for me it’s easy – giving my soles/feet a break. When I spend a good bit of my day having to run around either chasing grandchildren, taking care of clients, or running errands, it goes a whole lot smoother when my feet are happy. Most of the time the shoes we wear have a direct result on whether we have happy feet! I have worn shoes that looked fabulous with an outfit but left my feet unhappy.

I wanted a pair of black sneakers to take me through the fall and winter. Something that would be comfortable and easy to wear with a skirt, trousers and denim. I really wore the heck out of my Adidas sneakers this summer. I had an idea of what I wanted, but a lot of times what I see in my mind is not what I find when I go to look. I happened to be out looking for a baby gift, and well…. I can’t go in a store without walking through the shoe department. It’s my weakness and I have a strong affection for shoes.

Look what I found!

This black platform sneaker from Gentle Souls is making me sing and shout! The inside of this shoe is cushiony and supportive. The platform gives it a little flair, and look how cute they look with these cropped pants! I’m thinking they will be just as good looking with a dress or skirt too. I also like that they are clunky looking. I have a narrow foot, and so many of the platform sneakers I tried on looked so big! I felt like I was wearing clown shoes! No, really I mean it! It also doesn’t help I wear a size 9-9 1/2 shoe, a shoe that looks so cute in a size 6 or 7 takes on a whole other look in a size 9.

I gave these babies a test run the other day as I ran errands and did my grocery shopping. That doesn’t sound like much to some, but I shop at three different grocery stores. Yes, crazy me, I know! That will be another subject for another blog post.
