One of the reasons I love what I do is that I enjoy rising to a challenge. (the challenge being to convert what I have in my closet to be able to wear it through most of the year.)
Today, I want to share a maxi skirt that I purchased at the first of the year and wore through the spring and summer. This maxi skirt has selective sizes left, so I’ll give you some other options down below, because the principle is still the same on how to wear most any long skirt from summer into fall.
A simple way to style this skirt was to add a white tee, and some basic sneakers. For me though, I enjoyed wearing mixed prints, so I added the striped V neck tee and knotted it at my waistline. A floral top would be just as fun and interesting as the stripe.
The fabric in this tie-dye skirt reminds me of a watercolor painting and has more of a bohemian vibe. When it’s combined with a classic striped tee, this adds just the right twist to the look.
Now for fall this is the way I’ll change this outfit. I’ll add this sweater which has all the colors (lavender, aqua and melon) from the skirt in the yarn. It’s wild how well it goes with this print, and it’s a sweater I’ve had for a couple years. I was excited when I went to see what I had that would work well in cooler weather. This sweater makes the skirt the standout, so I added the hat to draw your attention up to my face.
A hat makes a statement.
I never wore them when I had shorter hair, because they looked silly on me. Now that I don’t have bangs or a particular style, I’ve become the “Mad Hatter.” It’s also easier having long hair, because I don’t have to worry about having “hat hair.”
These slouchy suede boots are from a couple seasons ago.
So, there you have it! Will you rise to the challenge and shop your closet to find pieces to make your wardrobe stylish year round?
