Playing Poncho and Baby News

As the weekend winds down, and tomorrow starts a new work week, I’m blown away as to how fast the week flew by. I do have to admit I had a lot going on.

For starters my grandson arrived safe and sound on January 8th. I was present for his birth, and I’m grateful to God for a healthy grandson. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long. He joins his big sister, Frankie Rae, who is thrilled to have him, hold him and whatever else she can help her Momma with. It’s precious to see her expression and how much she loves him already. I realize this will not last forever, especially when he gets older and is in all of her stuff. But for now, I’ll enjoy the pure happiness in her face as she beams while holding him and kissing all over his little cheeks. Wilder Kris Hoydar has no idea how much he is loved already.

He had a large welcoming group show up at the hospital. It was sweet to see all the love in the room, as everyone washed their hands and took their turn holding him and checking the new addition out. All ten fingers and toes.

We stayed and watched Frankie until her parents got home from the hospital a few days later. Now comes their adjustment to a new schedule with a new baby and a family of 4.

It was a great start to 2019!

I have to say the weather has been rainy, which makes me feel like a slug. I’ve been living in workout gear, but not working out. Today’s outfit is as close to feeling like I’m wearing workout gear, as I can get without actually wearing it.

This outfit is Lou & Grey, and it’s from Loft. I have good friends that work at Loft, so I try to stop in and say “Hi” when I’m up there, I had seen this line and especially the poncho. I wore a crocheted poncho when I was in 3rd grade. I thought I was so cool back then when I wore it. So when I saw this poncho, it definitely called out to my inner 3rd grader to come out and play. Plus this poncho is like wrapping yourself up in the softest knit blanket. And that’s what most of us have been longing to do on all these rainy, gloomy days. (Stay in, wrap up in a warm blanket and read or watch a good movie.) Can you tell this type of weather doesn’t motivate me? Back to the poncho. So, what’s really interesting about this poncho is how many ways you can wear it, As you can see, its pretty long, I tied it to the side in one picture, in another I draped one side over my shoulder. I then took it off, and I used it as a scarf.

The ponte pant is a classic pant to add to your wardrobe. It can be worn with an oversized denim shirt and ballet slippers heading into spring, It also goes quite well with a chunky sweater and boots.

The mock turtleneck is Lou & Grey as well. You can never have too many stripes.

I’ve added a few pieces down below that are part of the Lou & Grey collection. Their clothes are so versatile to add to your closet regardless of your style. There is an additional 40% sale items too.

My booties are Marc Fisher and they are having an additional 20% off of their sale items too. There are still some great deals out there. So don’t miss out, take a look.

Well, that’s a good start to the year. I’m going to try and stay as playful as I can, and I hope the sun comes out some more to make that easier. Have a great beginning to your New Year, and remember to humor the kid inside you!

XO
