Happy 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July to everyone in the US! And if you live outside of the US, Happy Tuesday!

I wasn’t going to even write on the blog today, just put a picture up on Instagram wishing all of you a safe and happy holiday, but I changed my mind. You know that is a woman’s prerogative!

We got together yesterday with 3/4 of my kids. My youngest was at the beach with some of his friends. (yes, I’m a wee bit jealous that he’s there and I’m not) We also got to see the grand loves and oh my, that does make my heart happy! They are growing so fast! It’s also so sweet to see the two babies (cousins) at their young age, 2 1/2 and 7 months have such love for one another already. They get it! It was a wonderful relaxing afternoon hanging with the ones I love, eating wings and drinking adult beverages. My family and friends are everything to me, they are my treasures in this life. For me, it’s time well spent, which recharges my batteries and refuels my soul!

I had already planned my outfit the night before. I operate the best, when I know what I’m wearing, I can get my morning chores done, get ready and get dressed. I’m not having to run around trying to make decisions, because that is what makes me late 90% of the time. And it stresses me out! So here’s what I wore, a romper! And you may ask “How does a 55 year old wear a romper?” well I say any way she pleases. And thats just what I did. I knew I’d be playing with the babies, so I wanted to be comfortable. I didn’t want to deal with the spaghetti straps and a strapless bra, so I wore a white cotton tee under it. I wore my Adidas trainers to keep up with the kids and threw my hair up in a scarf to keep it out of my face. This particular romper is linen, which is so nice and breathable in the humid weather here in Georgia. As we were heading out to meet the kids, I asked my husband to take a picture to put up on Instagram for the July 4th holiday.

So there you have it! Today we will relax and most likely go watch the fireworks with my mom and dad. It’s always a nice show and a tradition that we started 11 years ago when they moved here. We will also hurry to get back home after, because my dogs are not nearly as fond of the fireworks show as we are. Poor girls!
