Grand Picnic

This post is sponsored by Brookside Chocolate.

Being a parent has been one of my greatest blessings.

I came from a family where there were three children, and my husband did as well. I knew I wanted a big family early on. In fact,

I actually wanted six children when we started having children. I remember distinctly being very pregnant with my fourth child when I had an epiphany while I was juggling our evening routine.  It all happened as I was bathing the two younger ones in our huge garden tub and was helping my daughter with her homework as she was laying in the bathroom floor. My husband was traveling every week, and yes, my hands were full. I thought to myself four children will be just fine and will keep me plenty busy.

Yes, I made it through, and I’m alive to talk about it! Those days seem a long time ago, but now as I look back, they went by so quickly.

What I didn’t realize was how wonderful having grandchildren would be.

I have two grandchildren. My first grandchild is a little girl – her name is Frankie Rae. She’s three years old and full of life. My second grandchild is a little boy, his name is Navy Moon. He is a year and a half old and a ball of energy! If you follow me on Insta stories, you know that I have Frankie Rae on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This little one brings so much joy to my life and keeps me hopping. She keeps me on the go and loves to shop. Her momma never was a shopper or into fashion,  so I definitely have my little fashionista with granddaughter.

I don’t get to see Navy Moon quite as often as I get to see Frankie. Last week though he came and spent the night with us. This was a real treat, and we decided to take him over to to play with Frankie. Navy loves his older cousin, and Frankie loves being a little mother to him. She’s so helpful. Frankie also made sure to tell him no-no you can’t touch that it could hurt you. She will be a great big sister some day!

When we got the grandkids together, we decided to have a little picnic. We gathered them up and headed out to the little town Square.

It was beautiful out that day. We spread out our blanket and let the kids run wild.

We filled our picnic basket full of all kinds of delicious things, but as you would guess, the only thing that mattered was the BROOKSIDE Chocolate. These fruit flavor dark chocolate balls are the perfect picnic treat for a summer’s evening. This summer, BROOKSIDE is encouraging women to make ballsy moves.

For me, being ballsy represents where I am in my life.  I want to teach my grandkids to be ballsy and go after their dreams. I want them to realize nothing is impossible when you dream big and don’t let anyone set limitations on you. Who would’ve thought that I would be watching, playing with and hopefully inspiring through my own ballsy action the next generation after having my four children. On top of that, I am running my own business as well as curating content for my blog. I’ve never worked harder in my life, but I’ve never been more fulfilled! That’s something I want to pass down to the next generation – you’re never too old to start something new and follow your dreams.

XO
