Give me color, lots of color. That’s what I’m always saying around this time of year. January has come, and we’re already into February.
After the first of the year here in Atlanta, Georgia is when we normally have our weather. And with “our weather” I mean we either have tons of rain or we’ve even been known to have snow now and even up into March and April. Crazy right? We’ve had rain sporadically the last couple weeks. It’s been hard rainy days that soak the ground, and now it’s turned cold. It even snowed a little last week. With gray, gloomy skies who wants to wear dark winter clothes? Not me! So that’s when I go to my closet and start pulling color, anything with color bright colors, because bright colors make my mood soar.
Here’s a perfect example of what makes my day cheery! It’s a beautiful melon colored jacket and a blouse with bright color stripes with Geometric colored pattern in it. Denim, because it’s always comfortable and my go to, and a pair of bright coral colored suede pumps.
I not only look for color in my clothes, but I like my skin to have a little bit of color too. I’m tired of being pale through the winter and ready to give my skin a little color as well. Time to step up my game by incorporating a little self tanner into my morning or nightly routine. (it takes a bit to dry, and that determines when I apply it. Morning or night?) Years ago, I used to be a sun worshiper, but you can’t catch me in it these days without heavy sunscreen. And I most definitely will not be sunbathing now that I’ve seen the results from years past. But adding a little bit of self tanner always gives me a pep in my step, because my skin has more color. (I feel leaner when I’m tan too.) I think bright pinks or coral lipsticks look lovely with my skin when it has a little warmer tone.
