Falling for Love

Weddings are big in the fall! It’s such a beautiful time to get married – in fact, two out of my four kids got married during this time. My son celebrated his 2-year anniversary in September. My daughter will celebrate her 4 years of marriage in October.
So starting last Saturday I have a run of three weddings, 3 weekends in a row. Last Saturday’s was an outdoor wedding, always interesting here in Georgia because you never know what the weather’s going to be like. It’s still quite hot here! It was a lovely wedding, filled with sweet and tender moments. And lots of love!
What I’m really fascinated about these days with weddings is the creativity couples are showing to make their special day unique and fun, yet not costly or extremely elaborate. In the weddings that I’ve been to lately, the couples have not made it into a big production, and for me, it’s made it so refreshing. Please don’t get me wrong. I enjoy a large, elegant upscale wedding where formal attire is required, there is a live band, beautiful flowers everywhere, signature cocktails and a secret recipe created for that special day. And if you have the means to do that, I think that’s great! I’d love to come!
Not everyone is able to do that, but still couples have found a way to make it work so that it’s cost efficient and economical for all included. To be selfless and to think of others on a day that’s really all about them……well that was really quite humbling to me. So here’s to my friends on their special day! Thank you!
