Falling for Fall

School has started here in Atlanta, Georgia which always changes the amount of traffic out on the roads. There are so many more folks out and about in the mornings now. The school buses are buzzing through the neighborhood. We live right down from the high school all my kids attended. As I drive past the school on my way to watch my granddaughter twice a week, I get such a rush of wonderful memories of when my own kids were in school.  It’s been seven years since I had a child in high school, but it sure doesn’t seem like that much time has passed.

I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s kids on social media on the first day of school. There were a lot of kids heading off to kindergarten, and a lot of parents with their faces filled with mixed emotions. Then there are the kids that are Seniors this year, and I remember when most of them were born. I don’t know why they seem to hit harder than the ones heading to kindergarten, maybe it’s because the 18 years that have flown by feels more like 5.

After the kids start school, we look forward to high school football starting. Then it’s on to college football and cooler weather. The cooler weather starts the leaves changing, and shorter days arrive. Which brings me to the topic of fall colors! I’m excited to bring out my fall clothes. You know those rich earthy tones that are fall…..mustard, rust, olive, Burgundy, burnt orange, deep reds, off white, brown and the basics – gray, navy, camel and black. The last 4 colors hang out year round in my wardrobe, but I wanted to include them for those of you who don’t consider them the same way I do.

Here’s my jump start to fall! I’m wearing an off-white pair of wide leg denim, this bell sleeve rust colored top, classic braided belt and suede camel heels. I’ve also picked out some of my favorite fall items down below. Give them a look and tell me what you think!

What are your fall favorites? I’d love to know!
