Do you love spending time with the one you’re with? Or are you so busy doing life or taking care of the needs of others (children, friends, family….. you fill the blank in) that you haven’t really noticed you haven’t had some good quality one-on-one time with your Love. Well date night is a big deal at my house – it has been ever since I remarried my husband 29 years ago. Yes, I’m sure you’re wondering, “what’s that all about?” Well, the short version (I’ll have to tell the longer version at a later date on the blog) is I was married to my husband for 5 years, had my daughter, divorced for 2 years, and then we remarried. We count all the time together, (even the break), which gives us a grand total of 35 years. When we remarried, date night became a once-a-week date. We decided we’d make each other a priority, at least once a week. And so it’s been this way through 3 more kids, (all boys), all their sports, my husband’s business travels, and the craziness of life. There have been times when it’s had to be nothing more then grabbing a bite to eat somewhere very casual, but we still considered it our night. I love them all, but for me my favorite is to dress up and go to dinner and/or a movie.
I really don’t need an excuse to dress up, it’s pretty much psychological for me. I feel better about myself when I’m dressed, make up on, hair done and ready to go. And that was the case a few weeks back! We had a lovely dinner and even got to see a movie. Another sweet date night with the one I love!
