The first day of fall was ushered in at my house in this classic utility jacket. This easy-to-wear jacket comes in one of my favorite shades of green. The jacket is cut boxy and has a drawstring tie at the waist. This particular style I think is very flattering on all body types. It falls right below my hips and has 4 pockets on the front, which makes it convenient for carrying your phone. The jacket is not lined but has a mid-weight fabric which allows this jacket to be worn year round. It’s an easy jacket to add to your closet arsenal. It should hang there alongside your denim jackets, because it’s a classic too!
I wore this jacket with a striped short sleeve knit top and navy corduroy five pocket pants.
Once the weather gets cooler, I will always have a jacket, sweater, coat or blazer on. I am a super cold-natured gal and even in the summer I get chilly in my house with the air conditioner running. I would be thrilled to not have to deal with this, but I’ve been this way most of my adult life, for the exception of when I was pregnant with my kids.
The past several weeks I’ve been busy with a big project. We’ve been having a screened in porch built onto the back of our house. This has been a 4 month ordeal due to Covid. We decided we wanted to add this addition on to the house in the spring. I had no idea that it would be so difficult. We had no idea that lumber and building materials would become scarce and then go up 100% mark up from last year. I can’t wait to share the before and afters of this project with you guys.
I’ve become quite familiar with Home Depot and Lowes stores. There are still a few things to complete on the screen porch, but they are finishing up! Next week the floor guys will be here to install the floors, and then I get to decorate. Did I mention we’re getting a new roof too? Yes, it’s been a little nutty around here with lots of folks coming and going. I can’t wait to enjoy our new space, and hopefully the weather will hold out to where we can watch a football game or two out there.
