City Block

Hi Everyone! I hope you all are having a great week. I’ve been as busy as can be. May is shaping up to be a very busy month!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and I’m extremely blessed to have my parents about 6 miles down the road. I’m excited to celebrate my sweet Momma, because she is so amazing. I know we all think this about our mothers, but I was a really strong-willed child. I was also very much a rebel, and I know she has had a lot of sleepless nights worrying and praying that I would figure life out. I hope I’ve made her proud? She also has seen me deal with my own kids. She saw the “aha” moments when I totally understood what she went through so many years ago while dealing with me. You do get your payback from your own children.  My mom is also the first one to tell me she has read my blog post each time a new one is published. She is one of my biggest cheerleaders! We will all be heading up the road to Lawrenceville, Georgia to eat at Local Republic, a cool little restaurant there in the town square.

We will also celebrate my dad’s birthday, as he turns 81 years young. Then my middle son, Cortland will turn 26. And to top it off, my youngest son, Lawson, will graduate from college. YAY!  My niece also graduates from High School, and we will attend her graduation and party as well.

This is all happening along with my already busy day-to-day life! No complaining here though, but I will tell you how I cope in this type of craziness and still have joy!

Plan ahead! Yes, I try and plan out in advance what I will wear to all the above events. It just makes life easier and less hectic! Life is busy and stressful – why not knock out some of that stress?

A Color block skirt is a fun skirt that would be easy to wear to all the above events. This pencil cut skirt has been part of my wardrobe for a while. I’ve given you several other color block type styles down below to look at as well. Since the skirt is the headliner with it’s bright blocks of color, I decided to let it shine by pairing it with a simple black blouse and black patent pumps. All the accessories I put with it were silver.

So if you have a busy month of May too, I hope this might be helpful.  So how do you handle dressing for multiple back-to-back events?
