Springtime isn’t all about pastels! It’s a fantastic time to play with bright colors as well. And, I can’t think of a better way to break into the weekend, than to show my excitement with bold colors and prints.
Mostly, I like to stick to casual, comfortable, easy pieces that when planning for any kind of unexpected weekend fun. This classic cotton J. Crew tee and Khaki denim pants from Loft are so versatile, and perfect for any age. Their warm neutral color scheme lay a great foundation for adding accessories with bright and bold colors and patterns.
I’m in love with all of the beautiful colors in these color block Madewell sneakers. The turquoise plays so well with all of the warmer brown, yellow, and peach tones.
There are so many ways to style a cotton scarf. You can tie it around a purse strap, your wrist, a high or low ponytail. Here, I tied mine around my neck. The green leaves in its floral pattern accent my bright green belt. And, the floral pattern fits so well with the springtime style of my bright orange basket crossbody bag. Scarves are such a beautifully versatile accessory. And, my favorite quality of this one is its ability to bring the other elements of my ensemble into the perfect picture of springtime excitement and harmony.
Over it all, I threw on a denim jacket from Chico’s. I’m loving that the oversized “80’s” look is coming back. An oversized jacket is trendy and functional; full of extra space inside of extra large pockets for holding what might not fit in a stylish handbag.
I’m sure you’re all familiar with my advocacy for purchasing investment pieces. And, with the days getting longer, I can’t stress enough the importance of picking up a quality pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays. These Rayban wayfarer aviators are one of my favorite pairs. They have definitely stood the test of time, and I largely believe that’s due to the fact that they’re made of real glass. The periwinkle blue color of the lenses is a fantastic fit with the other colors I paired it with.
