I’m cheering for the pom-poms today! Last year I saw so many cute tops with pom-poms in solids and multi-colors. By the time I got around to looking for one for me to add to my wardrobe, I couldn’t find anything that I liked. Isn’t that the way it always works? When you want it, you can’t find it. Then winter came, blah! Fast forward to the first of March, and I was planning to head out of town. I was out picking up a few things before I headed out to New York, when I found this top. I grabbed it thinking it would be great to bring and shoot while I was there for my trip. Little did I know how crazy the weather would be there.
It started out so nice the day I got in, and I had the opportunity to shoot that afternoon before I had to head to the event that night. My plan was to shoot the next day. I started getting a scratchy throat that evening and headed to bed that night the minute I got back to the hotel. A good night’s rest does a body good, and I was up and getting ready when I decided to look out the window to watch the sun rise. Yeah, I’m a sucker for sunrises and sunsets. I can’t tell you my surprise as I pulled open the drapes to see snow falling from the sky out of my 4th floor window.
There went my plans to shoot this top until last week, when I had the chance to shoot with my very talented photographer, Chloe Enos. I am so blessed and lucky to have such a wonderful photographer and friend in Chloe. If you haven’t looked at her work, please check her out, she is a very gifted girl.
The day was warm and breezy as we headed to Ponce City Market.
I decided to wear the pom-pom top with these linen wide leg trousers. They remind me of some I had seen that Diane Keaton wore a long time ago. These high-waisted pants with pleats fit good for my curvy figure. I’m also a big fan of the side slit pockets. Really any thing with this type of pocket is okay by me.
With the outfit being so neutral, and to add color, I went with this saddle cross-body bag. It has lots of fun bright patch work fabric pieces that make up this one-of-a-kind bag. This bag I’ve had for a while, it was from a dear friends non-profit that helped to bring water purification systems to parts of the world that don’t have proper ways to get clean water.
So I love the way this outfit turned out with its pom poms and linens – What do you think about how it turned out?
