Bring on the New Year

I love looking back at 2016 and all that has happened. It’s been a year full of blessings! This year we will ring in the New Year with one of those blessings, my sweet granddaughter, Frankie Rae. She will be two after the first of the year. She is at such a fun age, talking and learning so much. She is like a sponge soaking up everything she hears and sees. I’ve also enjoyed watching my daughter grow as a momma too. We teach our children when they are young but it’s not till they have children of their own do we see our teaching in action. It’s a beautiful thing! So even though we will have somewhat of an early evening, my New Year’s attire will be “party casual”. Half of the fun of New Year’s Eve is getting to dress up, don’t you agree? Sequins, velvet, silk, satin and lace are what makes this holiday so festive. I remember when my children were younger, getting together with friends for New Year’s. Everyone would bring a dish, and the kids would play until they fell asleep. We all had young little ones at the time, so it worked out that the kids had fun, and we all had an opportunity to visit with each other. These are some of my fondest memories I have with my four crazy kids.
