With the recent warm weather we’ve been having, everything’s beginning to bloom! Aren’t these flowers beautiful? The smell is sweet and fresh. It’s in the air. Trying to get into the blooming spirit, I pulled out this floral top I had picked up last year. I really loved the colors as well as the design of the floral print. These bright colors are some of my favorites. The teal, pink, orange and blue really pop with the dark black background. I also like the detail of the cutout at the shoulder.
This top would also look super with a white blazer and black pants.
I had been on the lookout for a long white denim skirt to wear this with, but I found this high waisted blue denim skirt from Free People. I thought the buttons down the front gave it a more vintage look. If I remember correctly, I wore a skirt pretty much just like this in the 70’s. I think everyone needs a couple of denim skirts that fit into your wardrobe that can be worn year-round.
I know this skirt would look great with a white v-neck tee for summer as well as a chuncky sweater with boots or booties for fall.
The white platform sandals give a nice contrast to the dark top and denim as well as the white leather belt and white watch.
The teal bag is a Dooney & Bourke, an oldie but a goodie.
I also can’t forget the torquoise necklaces.
I find some people get scared to wear a bold floral print – they are afraid it’s overpowering! Give it a go, you might be surpised! You may just find you blossom and bloom!
