Black Floral Denim and a Flutter Sleeve

I’m prepped and ready to go with these floral print black denim. The great thing about this denim is they fit so nicely. They sit right at my waist with just enough stretch to make them comfortable for a day of shopping and lunch with the girls. They are on sale too. Don’t you love when you find a deal? I know I do, and these will be a wonderful pair of denim to take me from now into the cooler months.

When I saw them, I thought of a chunky, rust-colored sweater I have packed away. It’s a heavier sweater for the really cold days. That sweater will be super cute with a suede bootie added to the mix. I also thought about a purple merino wool v-neck sweater, (much lighter weight sweater than the rust sweater) I purchased years ago from J Crew. This purple sweater with a white blouse underneath it along with my black Jack Roger Penny loafers will be another go-to outfit that I can put together around this denim.

I guess what I’m trying to say and share is when I shop, I look for things I like, but I also look for items that can be added to what I already have. How many different outfits can I make with these particular pieces? I think when you shop and you can think in these terms it will expand your wardrobe.

Today I decided to add this flutter sleeve top from the Loft to the mix. A top like this is so good for those of you who are uncomfortable with wearing a sleeveless top. It’s a much more feminine and flirt type of tee.

I added the silver-studded sandals I purchased a couple years ago from Nordstrom. I do have to admit that I love these sandals, but my feet weren’t liking me at the end of the day.

The earrings I picked up at Urban Outfitters a month ago while I was downtown to see the kids. They are on sale as well and under $10.

I’ve also been wearing some of my nicer jewelry lately. The two necklaces I’m wearing I’ve had for years. They are all gifts from my sweet hubs. They have been easy to wear, because they are simple and go with whatever I’m wearing. I’ve been lazy and on the go, so wearing these 2 together have been one less thing to think about. And that’s a good thing!

XO
