Black and Red

This week the Georgia Bulldogs will be playing the Florida Gators, and it should be a pretty intense game,( if it’s anything like the football games in years past.) These two teams have been rivals for quite some time. That rivalry always makes for an exciting and thrilling football game.

My husband attended the University of Tennessee and played saxophone in the marching band. (Yes, he was a “band boy” and proud of it.) Our family has always been Volunteer fans, including basketball, but this year the team is not doing so well. When you live in the South, football is a very serious matter, so we have adopted the Georgia Bulldogs as our surrogate team this year. It’s really hard to live in the state of Georgia too and not cheer for the Dawgs.

I will be cheering them on from the confines of my own home, but that doesn’t mean I still don’t wear the Bulldog colors (black and red) and cheer loud. It just means I’ll be comfortable and warm. The weather is supposed to be dreary and rainy this weekend, so I’m OK with staying in.

I chose this Madison cardigan from @cabiclothing to wear. It’s 100% cotton knit with a larger ribbed texture.  The cardigan is so nice,  I could wear a blouse underneath it and/or a turtleneck or a crewneck and still be quite comfortable. It fits my body in all the right places. I love that it has the high slits on either side of the cardigan giving it a nice little bit a swing as you walk, not confining to your legs.

My  jeans are a Slim Boyfriend fit. They are also from @cabiclothing, and I’m really enjoying this cut of denim. The thing I like about these jeans is they’re relaxed in just the right areas but yet give your body a long streamline look. They have a classic rise which makes them sit just below the waistline. They are relaxed through the hips and thigh area, but are straight down the rest of leg. I’ve cuffed them up mid calf,  because I like the contrast in the color and to show off my suede red shoes!

POPS OF RED

The shoes are from Walking Cradles and are so easy to walk in. The heel is small and I like that they can be worn casual like I’m doing here. They are definitely one to wear to a football game where you will have to get to and from your car. That could be quite a distance, depending where you park, making it a long haul. These shoes are the pair to do just that and look stylish too!

I chose a wide red belt to help bring it all together, because you all know I like to cinch up my small waist. The belt I’m wearing is sold out, but I’ve given you several other great options below. I think either one will work well with this ensemble.

I’ve been wearing a couple of my Robert Coin necklaces on repeat. The truth be told, I don’t have to take these off at night and I can sleep in them. They don’t tangle, because I wear one shorter than the other. That for me is the easiest thing to do when I’m super busy. And don’t want to bother taking them on and off.

The little red cross body bag makes life easy to carry the essentials. I found a similar one down below and linked it. Who wants to carry a big bag to a football game when a little cross body bag is just perfect for caring a lipstick, keys and cell phone?

As I watch my adopted team play this weekend, I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend as well!

Now “GO SICK’EM DAWGS!! ”
