A Trench & Banker Stripes with a Flare

The weather in Atlanta has been up and down – it really has run the gamut, from rain to cold to wind and everything in between. When the weather is so unpredictable, I grab my trench coat. If you don’t own a Trench coat, here are a few things that make this type of coat a really great piece to have. It usually can be found in a khaki/camel (neutral) color, which works great with everything. It works as a warm coat, rain coat, and a wind breaker, which makes it the easiest to wear because it doesn’t matter what you put it on top of. It was originally a coat for Army officers in the first World War, as an all-weather coat. British luxury manufacturers Burberry and Aquascutum both claim they invented it before the end of the 19th century.  I have two of these coats, one is a London Fog, with a wool zip-in liner that is longer then the one I’m wearing today. The one that I wore today is shorter in length and has a little different collar. They are both oldies but goodies!

It’s paired with this stripped shirt and these dark flare jeans. I’m really enjoying this oversized boyfriend cut on this blouse. The stripes give it a great office/work look even untucked!  This spring, “Banker Stripers” are going to be a big trend, so I’m jumping on board. I’m also happy to see wide-legged and flared pants are back too. This curvy gal is pretty pumped about that, and I am prepared for their come back with a closet that has several pairs that are raring and ready to be worn.

I always like a pop of color, so this leather tote has come back for a return visit! And I added this silk scarf around my neck instead of a necklace, which also adds some more color and a little camouflage and warmth for my neck.

I’m counting the days till Spring is here!
