A Dress for Later

Easter Sunday has come and gone.

Every year I get together with my kids, grandkids, parents, my brother and his family and my sister. We eat a menu we’ve put together weeks in advance. We take family pictures. (One of my favorite things to do. The kids…… not so much.) It’s something I look forward to with eager anticipation. This was going to be an extra special celebration, because this year my daughter’s birthday fell on Easter.

A double treat!

This Easter was definitely different and one most of us won’t forget. I’m sad we weren’t able to be together, but I’m very thankful as I write this, my family is safe and healthy.

I am looking forward to the time when everything settles down, and we can all be together again, one big happy family. We will plan our menu, celebrate my daughter, Jessica’s birthday, take lots of family pictures and remember the Easter that could have been and was the first of its kind. The one in which we all stayed in and watched church services from home and did all this to help save lives. In my mind it kind of does go hand-in-hand with the reason for Easter.

When I shot this dress 5 weeks ago, I was thinking I’d write about spring Boho/Peasant dresses. (This style of dress fits me the best and is so dang comfortable.) Then it occurred to me this would be a perfect dress to wear for Easter Sunday. It also meant I didn’t have to go shopping for anything to wear for our family gathering. I was kinda proud that I had that checked off my to-do list then.

Fast forward to now, it didn’t get worn last Sunday. And yes, when we do get to celebrate all the above at a later date, I will be wearing this dress. Now we patiently wait to see when that time will be.

Patience is something we are all learning about these days, right?

Dresses in the Springtime are something I don’t have to learn about (thank God) and are so easy to wear now. I’m especially thrilled at the variety of shoes that can go with these dresses. Sandal, trainers, mules you name it, they all look good to me and when you work from home I can wear all three style shoes in one day, if I like.

I’ll give you some of my favorites down below. Most of these are classic peasant dresses and can be worn every year and tweaked with different belts, bags, shoes and earrings.
